CANNAFLOORS COVE BASE RESIN
Cannafloors Cove Base Resin is a two component, cycloaliphatic coating for building cove base. Its chemistry provides excellent bonding characteristics. Cannafloors Cove Base Resin is designed for easy cove base installation and easy mixing. Each kit is pre-measured, mix together the two components and add the recommended amount of silica sand to achieve the perfect mix for troweling cove base. Cannafloors Cove Base Resin is specially designed to give the throwel a ball bearing effect and glide smoothly across the base for consistently percfect cove base.

PACKAGING
Cannafloors Cove Base Resin consists of: Cannafloors Part A Resin and Cannafloors Part B premium hardener.

Unit 1 Kit | Pre-measured | Pre-measured |
MIXING
The ratio of CANNAFLOORS Cove Base Resin is a pre measured kit designed for easy mixing and application. Part A pail has extra room to accomadate mixing the Part B & the desired amount of sand or color quartz. Mix the following with a drill and mixing paddle. Note: If using a drill mixer, use a low speed (not to exceed 300 rpm) to prevent air entrapment.
1. The Unit 1 kit allows the Cannafloors Part A container to be used as the complete mixing container. Add entire contents of the Cannafloors pre-measured Part B and mix for 2-3 minutes.
2. Next add 2-3 gallon of silica sand (20-30 grit recommended) or color quartz and mix for 2 minutes. Make sure to move mixer up and down to ensure a uniform mixture.
3. Cannafloors Cove Base resin is designed to be immediately troweled on the cove base. Leaving mixed product in the container will greatly reduce working time. Once poured out on the floor, 20-30 minutes of working time can generally be expected.
CONCRETE PREPARATION
Before coating is applied concrete must be:
• Dry - No wet areas
• Clean - Contaminants removed
• Profiled - Surface etched
• Sound - All cracks and spoiled areas repaired
Mechanical preparation is the preferred method of preparing concrete coating application.Shot-blasting, diamond grinding, scarifying and scabbling are all acceptable methods.
TESTING
All surfaces are not the same. it is recommended that a sample area be done before the start of the project. The Test should be done on-site, using the proposed method by the assigned applicator to insure proper adhesion and color. a sample area should also be done on any existing coatings to determine if any contaminants exist or will occur.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Required Tools:
Plug drill and proper mixing paddle, 3"x8" trowel works best to apply, margin trowel, and a radius cove trowel minimum of 3/4" but 1" is preferred
1. Always apply in descending temperatures. Concrete is porous and traps air. In ascending temperatures (generally mornings) the air expands and can cause out gassing in the coating. It is safer to apply coatings in the late afternoon, especially for exterior applications.
2. Optimum ambient temperature should be between 65-90°F during application.
3. Pre-primer the area being coved with cannafloors primer / sealer
4. MIx the Pre-measured kit using above mixing instructions.
5. Use a minimum of a 3/4" radius cove trowel and finish cove base. Any smaller may result in a loss of the radius once the floor is tied in.
6. Carefully remove tape and finish rough edges.
